John Wiyual Kier died naturally in Lincoln, NE on March 28, 2022. John Kier was born in Nasir, South Sudan, and he was 51 years old when he passed away from this Earth. He married and is survived by wife, Mary Nyakot Ruach Tholbok, and together they had Five beautiful children: Nyajuok, Chudier, Ruot, Nyagoa and Nyapal Kier. He is also survived by his partner, Mary Nyagat Gach, together they had one beautiful girl, Nyawel Kier. John had Six siblings, two from his step mother, Nyariang Tangkol Yioy, and one from Nyadhool Puok (Man Kueth Kier), his biological mother, Nyapal Tut Lang, had Nyakang, Bol, and Tot Kier. John spent one year in Somalia country in 1992 to seek a better life and went to refugee camps where he was able to secure his transported money to Kenya in 1994. He came to the United States as a legal permanent refugee under Refugee Resettlement Program. In the United States John relocated to Nashville, TN after briefly resettled in St Louis, Mo in 1995. He joint group of young South Sudanese in Nashville and became one of the Elders for the Sudanese Presbyterian Church in Nashville before it was relocated to Gallatin TN. John was a great man, a good husband, a loved father, a cousin, and a great community member who help mobilized the young Nasirian in the United State to form NCA. He graduated from EB Wilson School in Gallatin, TN and attended some college courses at Nashville State Community College. The South Sudanese community in Tennessee and across the United States of America were shocked when they heard the news of his passing. They will remember him as a kind and honest man with integrity and helping heart to serve other human beings regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religious, or other backgrounds. He will be remembered as a man of commitment, dedication, determination, and hard work, who always saw what needed to be changed and volunteered himself to carry out the tasks with no fear or hesitation. He was a good man and may God receive his soul in peace!
