Larry Eldon Miller

Larry Eldon Miller, 57, of Lincoln, died on December 20, 2020. He was born on October 17, 1963 in Lincoln, NE to Martin and Barbara (Parrish) Miller. Larry worked at KFC from 1979 until 1992. He was a receiver at Sysco, formerly Lincoln Poultry, from 1992 until his death.

Larry married his first wife Tina Alder on July 8, 1988. They had their son Marcus in 1989. Larry married Colleen Heule on September 21, 1996. They had their daughter Alyssa in 1997. Larry and Colleen were happily married for 24 years.

Larry was a wonderful father and husband who instilled the importance of family to his children. He enjoyed camping, fishing, guns, and everything outdoors. He loved to spend time with his family outdoors. He taught two generations the joy and thrill of fishing and was present for his children and first grandson’s “first fish”.

Larry took every opportunity to see his grandchildren and was able to comfort them when their parents were unable. He would take summer vacations and spend the entire time with his first grandson, Greyson and had plans for to do the same for his second grandson, Aidric.

He dreamed of retiring and sightseeing while camping across the country in his trailer with his wife and their dogs.

He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if that is what you needed. Larry was never one to shy from words, he would say what was on his mind, as silence was not his favorite sound. Larry spent as much time as he could to help family members with household chores, around home repairs, security installations, and finances. He would do it all with a smile on his face and without a second thought.

Larry is survived by his wife, Colleen, son Marcus (Steph) Miller, of Lincoln, daughter Alyssa (Hunter) Welch, of Columbus. Grandsons, Greyson Gies and Aidric Welch. His mother Barbara Miller. His brothers Robert Miller and Paul (Robin) Miller, and sister Diane (Bob) Niemeyer. His aunts Mildred Carman, Maud Brinkman, and Uncle Richard Parrish. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, Martin Miller. Grandparents Jens B.R and Anna Miller, Newton and Edna Parrish. Uncles Eldon Miller, Carl Parrish, Jim Parrish, and Aunt Marie Stedman.

Cremation graveside service will take place on January 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Meet at Gate 2. Unlimited people may come. Informal, please come as you are. Larry was rarely seen without his cap; the family invites you to wear one.
