Ann (Comer) Weber was born to Alvin and Maxine Comer, in Sabetha, Kansas, on January 13, 1941. The family lived near Salem, Nebraska, and later moved east of Verdon, Nebraska, where her father farmed for 20 years.  Ann’s siblings included a brother, Alvin Jr., and a sister, Maude.  Ann attended MacElroy Country School and graduated from Verdon High School in 1959.  Ann traveled by train to visit her cousin, Mary Lee (Grossemig) Rademaker, in Firth. There she met her future husband, Marvin, at a downtown Wednesday night movie.  Ann and Marvin dated long distance for a year, were married the summer after Ann graduated from high school, and would share a life together for the next 61 years.  Following their wedding, they lived on a farmstead northeast of Firth. They lived there with their two sons, Kendall and Kevin until they purchased a farm just southeast of Firth. After their move, Kevin fell ill to Leukemia, and in December of 1967, he went to his heavenly home. Their daughter Karen was born in 1970 and Kristina in 1972. In 1997, Ann and Marvin moved from the farm into the town of Firth. Professionally, Ann spent many years working as a secretary and library paraprofessional for the Norris Public Schools from before the time it was consolidated, until May of 2004.  Family, school, church and community were central in her life.  She served many volunteer organizations such as Norris Teammates, Operation Christmas Child, and numerous other committees at her church.  Her most favorite activities included following her children and grandchildren in their activities.  Ann was in her element when hosting large family gatherings in her home, and always included any non-family members who also may not have family with which to spend their holidays.  Never did the food ever run out.  Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and her impact has been far reaching. She will be greatly missed!
